The Measure

Preparation for Measure:

Cabinets must be level and secure.

Prepare the work area. Make sure that all cabinets are free of debris. Don't schedule other people to work in the same area. Please secure all pets for their safety, and the safety of the workers. Remove all valuables and breakables from the work area. Remove rugs from the entrance and work area. If this is a remodel, the old countertops and fixtures must be removed.

Mark the location and size of wall jacks and fixtures. Placement of phone and electrical fixtures, wire whips, computer cable outlets, and other outlet fixtures must be identified. This is especially important if you have a full-height splash, so we know where to cut the holes.

Procedures for the Measure:

We measure everything, except the full-height splash. We measure this after the countertops are installed, for a more accurate fit. Out goal is to install the splash within the next two working days. Templates are used when necessary to ensure an accurate measure.

There is no such thing as a flat wall. Sometimes there can be gaps between the backsplash and adjustments need to be made. We will discuss this with you for your preferred approach.

We encourage you to be present at the measure, especially if there are any changes that you want to make. We want to work with you and welcome your questions and input. Once we have communicated to your and our satisfaction, please give the person who measures a quiet, uninterrupted time to help ensure a precise measure.
